Creative Writing Contest

Subject: What do elves do on their day off?

The Jeffersonville Parks and Recreation Department is seeking young writers for the 2015 Christmas Creative Writing Contest. Winners will receive a 2016 Season Pass to the Jeffersonville Aquatic Center.

Contest Details:

The will be one winner from each division, 3 winners total.

Kindergarten through second grade (K-2nd ), third through fifth grade (3rd -5th), and sixth through eighth (6th-8th).

To enter the contest, write 100 to 500 words answering the question “What do elves do on their day off?” Be creative! There is no entry fee to enter the contest. Limit one entry per person.

The deadline for the essay contest is Monday, December 28st . Entries will be accepted by U.S mail or by hand delivery:

Hand deliver to Parks Office: The Parks Department office is located on the 2nd floor of City Hall.

All entries must include the author’s name, address, phone number, current grade, school name and teacher’s name. Entries will not be returned but may be picked up no later than January 9th.

Entries will be judged anonymously based on the following criteria: originality and creativity
