NUMATS Testing Opportunities for High Ability Students

Early testing on the PSAT 8/9, SAT, or ACT is offered through Northwestern University’s Midwest Academic Talent Search (NUMATS). Practice on these tests provides students and families baseline information to build upon for when the students take these tests closer to college admission time.

Before the winter holiday, remember that registration for February test dates ends in early January.

  • PSAT 8/9 (grades 3-6*) – February 10 and February 11 are the last two test dates available in the current academic year; registration ends January 8.

  • ACT (grades 6*-9) – Regular registration ends January 10 for the popular February 10 test date. An additional fee of $29.50 applies during the late registration period January 11-16.

  • SAT (grades 6*-9) – The three remaining test dates are March 10, May 5, and June 2. Registration ends February 6, April 3, and April 30, respectively.
